How many soap favours to order
The usual rule is one favour per guest, plus a small buffer. Add roughly five per cent for breakages, last-minute guests and the pieces you will want for your own photographs, styling table and keepsake box. For 120 guests that means ordering around 126, which in practice rounds to 130.
If you are seating couples and want one favour per place setting rather than per person, count seats, not invitations. Families with children often need fewer soaps than head count suggests, so decide early whether children get a favour at all — it can change the order by twenty pieces.
Choosing between the soaps
There are two directions in this category, and they suit different tables.
- Soap favours with dried flowers — the petals are set into the bar, so each piece is slightly different. These read best on a bare wood, linen or marble table where the detail is visible, and they photograph well in flat-lay shots.
- Plain handmade soap favours — quieter, and a better base if your personalisation is doing the talking, or if your table already has a lot going on with florals and stationery.
A practical test: if your printed tag or label carries a monogram, a date and a thank-you line, a plain bar keeps it legible. If the soap itself is the centrepiece and the tag is minimal, the dried flower version earns its place.
Personalisation
Names, wedding or event dates, initials and short messages are all possible. Keep the text short — a first-name pair and a date is the sweet spot. Long sentences shrink the type and lose impact at the size of a favour label.
Corporate buyers usually send a company name and a single line for the occasion. Send your wording exactly as you want it printed, including accents and any spelling you prefer, and check it once more before production begins. Because every batch is made after the order is placed, changes are far easier before than after. For quantities, wording and anything that needs a written breakdown, use the bulk quote request.
How they arrive and how to pack them
Each soap is wrapped and finished by hand, then packed for transit in layers so the bars do not rub against each other. They arrive ready to place, not flat-packed, though you may want to loosen or straighten ribbons after the journey.
Store the boxes somewhere cool and dry until the event — not a car boot in summer, and not next to a radiator. Keep them sealed until the day so the scent stays in the soap rather than in the storeroom. If you are giving them out at the door rather than seating them, ask two people to handle distribution and count out trays of twenty; it moves far faster than one basket.
Order a sample first
If you are deciding between the dried flower soap and the plain bar, or matching favours to a colour scheme, see one in your hand before committing to 150. You can request a free sample and photograph it on your actual tablecloth, under your actual venue lighting.
Samples are also worth it when you are mixing categories. Soap pairs naturally with a candle or tealight favour on a shared table, and some couples give soap to day guests and a keepsake favour to the wedding party. Seeing both together tells you more than two product photos ever will.
