Pashmina Shawl Favours

Soft woven pashmina shawls in twenty shades, folded and tagged by hand. The favour guests actually wear, on the night and long after.

How many shawls to order

Most couples order for the guests who will actually be seated outdoors or in the evening, not for every name on the list. A few rules of thumb that work:

  • Outdoor or garden ceremony: one shawl per seat. A 120-seat ceremony takes 120 shawls.
  • Indoor reception with a terrace: around 60 to 70 percent of guest count is usually enough.
  • Women-only count: if you are giving shawls to female guests, count them and add ten spare. Spares cover last-minute guests and the two or three that get photographed and never come back.

For a 150-person wedding with a seated outdoor dinner, 150 to 160 pieces is the realistic number. Ordering ten extra costs less than reordering, since a second run is made and shipped separately.

Choosing from the 20 shades

Fabric colour behaves differently from a photograph on a phone. Dusty pinks and sages in particular read lighter on screen than they do in the hand, and deep shades read flatter. That is why we post a free sample before you order — request the two or three shades you are hesitating between and hold them against your bridesmaid fabric or table linen in daylight.

If you want a shortcut: ivory, cream and soft grey photograph well in almost any setting and never fight with the flowers. Stronger shades such as burgundy, navy and emerald work best when they echo one colour already in the scheme. Mixing two shades across the seats looks deliberate if you split them by table or alternate along the rows, rather than scattering them at random.

What goes on the printed band

Each shawl is finished with a printed band that wraps the folded shawl and carries your personalisation. Typically that is two first names and the wedding date, and there is room for a short line such as a thank-you, a hashtag or a venue name. Keep it to a few words; long sentences shrink the type and lose their effect at arm's length. Corporate buyers usually use a company name and event date on the same band.

Send your spelling exactly as you want it printed, including accented characters and any date format you prefer. We confirm the wording with you before the run starts, and everything is printed and assembled after the order is placed.

How they arrive

Every shawl is woven full size with fringed ends, then folded, banded, tagged and packed by hand in the workshop. They arrive nested in boxes, ready to lift straight into a basket, lay on chairs or stack on a welcome table — no assembly, no ironing session the night before. Keep the boxes flat and closed until the day; the fringes stay tidy that way.

Minimums, samples and shipping

The minimum order here is 10 pieces, with prices from $3.85 each. Small quantities below our bulk range go through our Etsy shop instead.

Sequence it like this: request the free sample first, confirm the shade and the band wording, then place the bulk order. Express shipping with FedEx or DHL runs 2-3 days to the US and UK, 1-3 days within Europe and 2-6 days worldwide, and US import duties are covered on our side, so nothing extra is asked of you on delivery.

Deciding between shawl favours and smaller keepsakes

Choose shawls when your guests will feel the temperature — evening gardens, coastal venues, autumn and winter dates, or long outdoor ceremonies. They are used during the event rather than carried home unopened. If your reception is fully indoors and warm, a candle or soap favour may suit better, and many couples order shawls for the ceremony and something smaller for the place settings.
