How many chocolate favours to order
Count confirmed guests first, then add a margin. Chocolate favours are the kind of thing people take a second of, and a few always get lost in the clearing up at the end of the night. A workable rule of thumb:
- One per seat for place settings, plus 5 to 10 percent spare.
- One per room or couple if they go into welcome bags — this usually cuts the number by about a third.
- Round up to the next batch rather than ordering a second small run later; a top-up batch is prepared separately and costs more per piece.
A 120-guest wedding with a favour table typically lands around 130 pieces. For a corporate event with an unknown headcount, order to the room capacity rather than the RSVP list.
Personalisation and wording
The personalisation is added by hand after the order is placed, so the wording is yours to decide. Common choices are two first names with the event date, a set of initials, a single thank-you line, or a company name for corporate gifting. Short wording reads better than long — a name and a date sits comfortably where a full sentence will not.
Send your text exactly as you want it to appear, including accents and capitalisation. We work from what you write, so check spellings of names and the date format (day-month-year reads differently to month-day-year) before you approve. If you are unsure between two layouts, say so in your order note and we will advise from experience with similar batches.
How they are made and packed
Nothing is pre-made. Once your order and wording are confirmed, the batch is produced, personalised and packed by hand in our workshop. Because of that, small variations between pieces are normal and are part of a handmade favour rather than a fault.
Pieces are packed carefully for transit and arrive grouped so they are straightforward to lay out at the venue. If you plan to attach them to place cards or add a ribbon on site, allow an hour or two with a helper the day before — favour tables always take longer than people expect.
Choosing chocolate over another favour
Chocolate favours suit seated dinners and evening receptions, where guests can eat them at the table or pocket them on the way out. They are less suited to outdoor summer events with long hours in the sun, or to welcome bags left in warm cars.
If your event falls in high heat or you want something guests keep, a candle or tealight favour travels better, and soap favours are a good middle ground — consumable, but stable. Some couples order chocolate for the dinner tables and a keepsake item for the welcome bags, which spreads the budget sensibly.
Order a sample before the full batch
For a batch of 100 or more, see one in person first. A sample shows you the finished size and how your wording actually sits on the piece, which is hard to judge from a photo. You can request a free sample with your proposed wording, then confirm the full run once you are happy.
When you know your quantity, send the details through the bulk quote request with your event date, guest count and wording. Because everything is made after the order is placed, the earlier your date is in our schedule, the more room there is for adjustments.
